Aircraft cable is a category of wire rope generally 3/8" and smaller in diameter, in 7x7, 7x19, or 19x7 constructions, and typically offered in galvanized and stainless steel. It comes in both military specification (Mil Spec) grade and commercial grade. Mil Spec grade is generally limited to aviation use, while commercial grade is the more widely used grade for a variety of applications, including garage doors, architectural railings, and boats.
